I am a wife, a first-time mom, an older sister, an aunt times two, firstborn child, firstborn grandchild, twice a sister-in-law, one and only daughter-in-law, who publishes bits of her life on the web.carrie d'anna
about me. i am a first-time mom. i have been a nanny, childcare coordinator, teacher, and children's church coordinator. so i guess I know alot about kids and nothing about motherhood.
i have looked at this mommy thing from the perspective of sudo-mommy for so long and have formed many opinions about motherhood, raising kids, and "how it's all done" - many opinions i have loudly proclaimed in the past.
this blog is witness to my daily revelations as a real mom. the bottom line: whatever i said pre-motherhood was out of total ignorance.
it is one thing to say "this is how you train a child to sleep in their own crib" or "this is the process when leaving you child in some elses care".... there are many articles/books/research on raising kids. the question is how do train a mom to sleep when she can't hear her baby breathing or smell their sweet skin? What is the best process for a mom to hand over the focus of her life for months to someone else and walk away guilt free?
how do you raise a mother??
so thats what my blog is about. raising the modern day mom.
If you are reading this in reference to my "...in the still. " blog - am also a budding photographer. i am currently creating a portfolio, saving $ for a 'real' camera, and taking classes that will help me turn talent into experience and skill.
